GAS CHEMICAL NANOSENSORS WITH SENSING ELEMENTS BASED ON TITANIUM DIOXIDE: THE ANALYSIS OF DEVELOPMENT DURING LAST YEARS. PART 1
V.A. BUZANOVSKII

The results of development of gas chemical nanosensors with
sensing elements based on titanium dioxide received during
the last few years are submitted in the review. The developed
devices are systematized according to construction features
of sensing elements. Thus, four nanosensor groups are
defi ned. Group 1 is devices sensing elements of which have
a covering of only titanium dioxide. Group 2 is nanosensors
with the sensing elements containing a covering of titanium
dioxide and an external layer of other material. Group 3 is
devices sensing elements of which have a covering of the
composite based on titanium dioxide. Group 4 is nanosensors
with the sensing elements containing a covering of the
composite based on titanium dioxide and an external layer of
other material. Analytical abilities of the listed device groups
are considered. Typical regularities are marked. In particular,
ability of the nanosensors to determination of the big number
of inorganic and organic chemical compounds is presented;
infl uence of thickness, morphology and composition of a
covering and temperature of sensing element on sensitivity
and selectivity of measurements, response time and
recovery time is shown. The review consists of two parts. The
construction features and analytical abilities of nanosensors
of group 1 and 2 are refl ected in the fi rst part of the review.
The second part of the review is devoted to the construction
features and analytical abilities of devices of group 3 and 4. At
the end of the review, the general characteristic of the listed
groups of nanosensors is given and fi elds of their potential
application are specifi ed.
Key words: nanotechnology, nanomaterial, gas chemical nanosensor,
sensing element, covering, titanium dioxide, metrological
characteristic.
