MOTION OF CHARGED PARTICLES IN NON-FIELD AMPERE’S ELECTRODYNAMICS |
S.A. GERASIMOV
Diff erences between the field electrodynamics based on the Biot-Savart force law and the force Ampere’s electrodynamics are of principle. The Biot-Savart force law does not obey rule of equality and collinearity of action-reaction while that of Ampere does. Moreover the Ampere’s force demonstrates the presence of longitudinal forces between two current elements. Existence of the longitudinal magnetic forces leads to results contrary to impossibility of acceleration of charged particles by magnetic fi eld. Detail consideration of the net Ampere’s force exerted on a charged particle by a closed current loop or a magnetized body leads to the equation of motion absolutely identical to predictions of the standard electrodynamics. The magnetic Ampere’s action of the uniformly magnetized body on the charged particle coincides with that produced by a surface current of the same body.
Keywords: Ampere’s force, Biot-Savart force law, charged particle, magnetic dipole, magnetized body.
