EFFECT OF INTERDISLOCATION INTERACTION ON THE STRUCTURE OF DISLOCATION CORES |

A method for the theoretical study of the structure of the core of interacting edge dislocations is proposed. Based on this method, the calculation of the geometric parameters of the core and the excess volume of dislocations in clusters was carried out. It is shown that the elastic fields of interacting dislocations can have a significant effect on the atomic structure of dislocation cores. A critical distance between dislocations is found, at which this effect can be neglected. For a dislocation wall simulating a low-angle intercrystallite tilt boundary, this distance corresponds to tilt angles close to 4 degrees. When modeling intercrystallite boundaries with an inclination angle of more than 4 degrees, significant changes in the structure of dislocation cores should be taken into account. A similar consideration should be made when analyzing the dislocation mechanisms of microcrack nucleation.
