Electrostatic calculation of the mass differencebetween the neutron and proton(model of free quarks) |

Abstract. All textbooks and monographs noted that the difference
between neutron and proton masses caused by electrostatic
(Coulomb) interaction, but the calculation of this
vzaimodestviya in literature. This work is the first in the series
of works devoted to the calculation of the mass difference
between the baryon multiplets. On the basis of the quark
model of the nucleon Monte Carlo calculated Coulomb interaction
energy of the quarks. In the simplest model, it was
assumed that the quarks inside the nucleon behave as free
particles. But even in this rather crude model calculate the
results of the mass difference of the neutron and proton are
different from the experimental values by no more than ten
percent.
