THERMAL NOISE. KINETIC AND THERMODYNAMIC THEORY |
B.I. YAKUBOVICH
Kinetic and thermodynamic approaches to the analysis of thermal noise are considered. The kinetic theory of thermal noise
in conductors is created. Within the kinetic theory the strict quantitative description of thermal noise is given. Expression
of general form for spectrum of thermal noise is calculated. Expressions for noise in special cases are obtained. The results
of kinetic and thermodynamic approaches to the analysis of thermal noise are compared. The formula following from the
kinetic theory for spectrum of thermal noise in special case under very considerable simplifi cations passes into Nyquist’s
formula. From the positions of the kinetic theory it is possible to more fully determine properties of thermal noise, than from
the thermodynamic theory. The obtained results expand notion of thermal noise, give more complete and strict description
of it, allow more accurate determination of noise characteristics.
Keywords: fluctuations, noise, thermal, spectrum, conductor, kinetic, thermodynamic.
