STUDY OF CONDENSATE LIMIT COSTS ON A VERTICAL TUBE SURFACE WITH SPIRAL WIRE CONSTRUCTION |
S.D. KORNEEV, L.A. MARYUSHIN, M.I. GOLUBEV
An experimental study of the condensate drain from the surface of vertical pipes using wire winding was performed. The scheme and description of a pilot plant for the study of the marginal flow rate of a fluid held by surface tension forces on an edge formed by wire winding is given. A series of experiments were carried out for the step of spiral winding of S/D copper wire from 0.53 to 2.9. The results of the experiments showed that the maximum value of the marginal consumption of condensate, which prevents condensate from flowing through the wire edge, corresponds to the coiling step S/D = 1.58. This method of condensate drainage from the surface of a vertical tube bundle allows to reduce the thickness of the liquid film on the heat exchange surface during laminar film condensation, and, consequently, to increase the heat transfer coefficient during condensation.
Keywords: Heat transfer intensification, intermediate condensate drainage, heat exchange equipment.
