THE SIMPLE WAVE METAMORPHOSIS IN THE CHANNEL |

The theory of perfect simple wave omits the effect of the walls while propagating in a channel. The flow friction on the wall surface leads to some growth of the pressure and temperature in the wall vicinity. Area of such rise emits acoustic spherical waves. Also, the flow of the simple wave moving in a channel is in fact the wave beam of a finite diameter, which The beam undergoes the diffraction divergence, which transforms the plane wave into a spherical segment. Superposition of these waves forms a spatio-temporal field of perturbations of the flow parameters. If Reynolds number of the flow reaches some critical value, the flow is called the turbulent. Some part of the flow energy turns into heat and energy of these waves. All these processes violate the conditions of flow adiabaticity snd stream jets. Hence, the a simple wave can not exist in the channel by its definition.
