INTENSIFICATION OF HEAT TRANSFER DURING CONDENSATION ON VERTICAL PIPE BEAMS |

Intensification of heat transfer during film condensation on a vertical pipe surface by using an intermediate condensate drainage, carried out using a wire spiral placed on the condensation surface, is considered. The results of experiments are given for a spiral winding pitch from 20 to 110 mm using copper wire. The temperature of the heating saturated steam in the course of the experiments changed stepwise within the range of 105…115 °C. The influence of the step of wire winding on the intensity of heat transfer during film condensation is determined. As a result of the studies, it was found that the use of wire winding placed on the outer surface of vertical pipes can significantly increase the intensity of heat transfer during condensation and preserves the compactness of the tube bundle of the heat exchanger-condenser.
